Aegio is the second largest city of Achaia. It is the seat of the municipality Aegialias and was formerly seat of the municipality Aigiou. Because of its location is known as the Balcony of Korinthiakou.I name, according to Strabo, was derived from the sacred goat that nourished Zeus in infancy, which was kept to protect the paidofago fury of his father Saturn.
