Description

Cecina is a comune in the Province of Livorno in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 80 kilometres southwest of Florence and about 30 kilometres southeast of Livorno. An archaeological park close to the town houses the remains of a Roman villa from the 1st century BC. The modern town was founded in 1852, but was totally destroyed during World War II. From the 1960s onwards, it has developed into a popular tourist resort.
