Urla

Description

Urla is one of the most beautiful cities of Izmir Province in Turkey. It has been, from ancient times, an important commercial and cultural center, and therefore with many attractions for the modern visitor to see. It is not a coincidence that art pieces and sculptures found during archaeological excavations are exhibited in the Louvre, the National Archaeological Museum of Athens and the Archaeological Museum of Izmir. Nowadays, Urla is an emerging tourist destination where visitors find plenty of places to sting fresh fish as well as many secularists who love to discover multiculturalism in their country. For people of literature and art, Urla is popular as the birthplace, on the one hand, of the Greek Nobelist poet George Seferis as well as the city where the Turkish novelist Necati Cumalı grew up.
