Yassiada

Description

Yassiada (Plati in greek) is a small uninhabited island of the Prince Islands complex. It takes its name after its shape which is wide, thus, following the political events which concurred in 1960, the island has been renamed and is now known to as the Democracy and Freedom Island. Since 1993 it constitutes property of the Istanbul University`s department of Marine Life and Sea Products. It is one of the favorite locations for diving and scuba diving.
