Kasik Island (Kasik Adasi in turkish), is one of the 5 small islands of the Prince Island complex. There have been many definitions with regard to the origin of its name. For Greeks the island is called Pita (which literally means Pie) as it has the shape of the pies women from Istanbul make, while for the Turkish, and because of its shape, the island is called Spoon Island (the literal translation of Kasik Adasi). This island has always been and still remains uninhabited. Since the beginning of the 20th century the Island belongs to private individuals.
