Els Pescadors Beach of Badalona

Spain, Cataluña, Barcelona, Els Pescadors Beach of Badalona

Description

The Els Pescadors beach has traditionally been the favourite area of Badalona´s fishermen. We can still see several fishing boats stranded in the sand. It can be accessed via an underground passageway. The Badalona railway station is only 150 metres away. It has medium grain sand and the entry slope into the sea is fairly steep, with a sandy seabed. There is a centre for the disabled that has adapted showers, changing room and toilets, an access ramp, amphibious chairs, assistance service and a lifeline in the sea. In addition, it has an area reserved for the town´s activities, in which such sports activities as aerobic, Tai Chi or beach football, and several events during the Fiesta Mayor take place. It is flanked by a street in which there are several parking spaces and a pedestrian promenade. Behind it we find the railway line and, beyond it, a promenade with palm trees, along which we find several bars and restaurants. On the pedestrian promenade there is a fitness course that goes right up to the Cristall beach. On the beach itself we find the famous La Doncella de la Costa restaurant, which also has bathing huts. It has a length of 420 m. and an average width of 45 m. It has a high rate of popularity.
