Description
Katakolo is mainly a commercial port in NW Peloponnese It is `the watermelon capital` of Greece. It is a convenient place to leave the yacht while visiting the ancient site of Olympia 25 km away. It is a port of entry. But shops will be mostly closed if there is no cruise ship in town. However, through the summer there are cruise ships on most days - sometimes three, which can rather over-run the small town!
