Description

The city of Mudanya lies on the southern shores of the Sea of Marmara, three miles E of Zeytinbagi and 13 miles W of the busy industrial port of Gemlik. A busy commercial centre and important ferry terminal, until recent years yachts could only moor in part of the commercial harbour, which was usually filled with local boats. Now, however, a new harbour is in operation in a residential area a mile W of the old commercial harbour. The southern half is occupied by small fishing vessels on pontoons, while the northern half, along the breakwater, has laid moorings for around 100 yachts in good shelter. Depths in the harbour are 4.5 – 5.0 metres and in the entrance 4.0 – 5.0 metres.
