Description
Sami is a town located in Kefalonia. It is the largest port of the island. According to the program Kapodistrias, Sami was the seat of the municipality Sami. Located on the eastern coast of the island, in a bay, which forms a safe harbor, opposite Ithaca. It is a major commercial and tourist center. Distance from Argostoli 22 km. In place of the current settlement remains were found of habitation from the early Greek period. On the hill Krane at Agios Theodoros have found remains of a Mycenaean settlement.
