Description

Mavra Litharia coastal settlement limits Corinth and Achaia, 5 km west of Derveni which belongs administratively. In ancient times was the seaport of ancient Aigeira, whose traces, such as the theater, located at the nearby hill Paliokastro. He had the same name as the ancient city or referred to as port of Aigeirous. According to Pausanias, the port abstained 12 steps from the main Aigeira where 6 ships under the command of Agamemnon took part in the expedition against Troy. The traces of the ancient port observed on the western exit of blacks Litharia to Achaia, near the modern marina Derveni.
