Description
A sheltered and very attractive bay,Loutro is the only natural harbour on the south coast of Crete. The SW end of the harbour has a ferry quay and a few small craft moorings and there is an isolated rock just awash 50m off the shore on the NE side (marked with a small concrete `pot`). Loutro has no road access, only via the ferry from Chora Sfakion so is blessedly free of road traffic. Numerous tavernas line the bay and there is good swimming in water clear as glass off the sandy beach.
