Cabrera Beach
Spain, Cataluña, Barcelona
Coastline panorama
Description
The coastline of the municipality of Cabrera de Mar enjoys the Cabrera beach, a hardly urbanized area of the Maresme coast. The municipality is located about two kilometres inland, aalthough we do find here the towns of Pla de l´Avello (near Vilassar) and Costamar Bonamar. This river delimits the beach to the West, together with the municipality of Mataró. The sand is medium-grained and yellowish. The waters are calm and clear and there is a bank of two or three metres from the shore, which makes it an ideal place for angling. On the west side, near the Cabrera river, lie the facilities of the Yacht Club and also a campsite with a restaurant and leisure activities. The beach has a tower and monitoring services, a first aid point, showers, bars and access ramps for the disabled. In order to access it by car, from the N-II road, through the Palomares and the Bona Mar passages, you can reach the beach. The Barcelona-Mataró railway stops at the Cabrera de Mar halt (Vilassar de Mar). Two underground passages provide access for pedestrians from the other side of the road. Between the Cabrera beach and the beaches of Mataró there is a transitable road for walking and cycling, that runs parallel to the railway line. It has a length of 1200 m. and an average width of 6 m. It has a high rate of popularity.
