Capellans Beach
Spain, Catalonia, Tarragona, Salou
Coastline panorama
Description
Located on the easternmost part of Cape Salou, Capellans Beach, is the first one you will see when walking on the Camí de Ronda. It is an urban cove, although it does have a pine grove that runs right up to the sand. The beach is 209 metres long, with fine sand, standing out for how easy it is to get into the sea. Distinguished with a Blue Flag, the beach can be accessed from Carrer de la Gavina and also from the Camí de Ronda. There is generally a real international blend on this beach, made up of people staying at nearby apartments and hotels. Services include lifeguard and rescue, restaurants and water sports. Capellans Beach was formerly known as Antines Beach, when it housed the service for inspecting goods that came into the port. In 1829 a quarantine station was built in which to isolate people arriving with epidemics. Easy access by road.
