La Fragata Beach

Description

The La Fragata beach is one of the most popular in Sitges, both among tourists that visit this town and among the locals. It is located right next to the Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla church which makes it one of the town´s most photgraphed places. To this visual appeal, we must add that of its location, between two breakwaters, which make its waters stay calm, where fishermen used to strand their boats. It is a very busy beach all day long. The most early bird bathers are there since dawn, while during the afternoon and at night, it is a usual place to go for a walk. It has a pleasant beach bar and a beach volley area, as well as places where to rent a pedalo. La Fragata is 125 metres long by 150 metres wide, and has such services as showers, toilets, foot-washers, first aid and access for the disabled. In addition, as it is so close to the yacht club, one can sail in its waters. Its location next to the busy Ribera promenade offers the visitor the chance to enjoy the many bars and restaurants along it. The Renfe railway station is just over half a kilometre away. Without doubt, this is the best option to get to the beach, as all the parking areas near it are paying.
